Balbriggan
Nestled along side the Irish Sea on the East coast
of Ireland, just north of the capital city of Dublin, rests the growing
community of Balbriggan. Only 15 minutes north from Dublin Airport, and
you are there.
A landmark of beauty is the "Arches", (viaduct),
in the park/car park overlooking the harbour. The well groomed flowers
extend their beauty most of the year.
The beach and promenade is a favourite spot for
a walk, or a refreshing dip in the summertime. Look carefully, you might
catch a glimpse of a seal or two following the fishing boats into harbour.
The shopping area is small but extensive, with
a range of interesting local stores.
The lovely cricket grounds, tennis courts, GAA
Football pitch and Workout Gym are all near the centre of town.
Balbriggan Golf Club has an excellent 18 hole facility
off the old Dublin Road, between Balbriggan & Balrothery. Nothing is
actually too far away.
Stop into the shops, the cafes, the mall, and strike
up a conversation with the people of Balbriggan. A variety of backgrounds
from Ireland, and a splendid blend of individuality is seen as you begin
to get to know the fine local residents.
A must is a visit to the Ardgillan Demesne only
2 miles east. Lovely walks, Walled Gardens, Roses, Museum and Victorian
Glasshouse will be an enjoyment.
To the North is the historic Boyne Valley, and
to the West you find the ancient passage graves of "Four Knocks". Things
to do and see are everywhere. |
